Competitions

At the heart of the Royal Windsor Flower Show, the Competitions’ Marquee celebrates creativity, skill and community spirit. This quintessentially British tradition invites gardeners, florists, bakers, photographers and creative craft enthusiasts of all ages to try out their talents and compete for challenge cups, prizes and rosettes!

Each year, we introduce new and exciting categories, ranging from home grown sweet peas and potatoes to paper flowers and pastries – ensuring there’s something for everyone to try!

Competition Highlights 2025

A Competition for Everyone!

Whether you want to create a posy fit for King Charles III’s breakfast table, bake a knockout chocolate cake, or capture a stunning photograph, there’s a category for you! No experience is necessary and we welcome all ages and abilities to take part in these fun and friendly competitions.

Children’s Competitions

Young creatives can get involved in a range of exciting challenges, from gardening and cookery to arts and craft. This year’s Children’s Marquee, hosted by Busy Buttons CORE Charity, will inspire young minds with the theme ‘Father Thames: A Tapestry of Life’ – exploring the river’s rich flora, fauna, history and communities.

Ten local schools will also have the opportunity to create their art installations based on the theme ‘The Thames Tales’.

Community Container Competition

Community Container Competition invites people of all ages to come together and create an ‘in-the-round’ planting display using a recycled container. Whether you’re part of a gardening club, school, family, retirement group or workplace team, this competition is all about creativity, collaboration and fun! The entry that most impresses the judges will be awarded the prestigious Andrew Try Cup.

Windsor Pubs in Bloom Competition

Windsor Pubs in Bloom Competition, supported by Windsor & Eton Brewery, celebrates the most beautifully decorated pubs within 10 miles of Windsor. Open to all local pubs, entries can feature homegrown or locally sourced plants, creating stunning floral displays. The ‘Johnnie Walker’ Cup will be awarded to the most impressive entry, with judging announced within 10 days of the show.
