“English sparkling wine has soared in quality over the past decade, and today it ranks among the finest in the world. We feel very privileged to grow vines in Windsor Great Park, where there was a vineyard as far back as the 1100s, during the reign of King Henry II. In 2010, we were shown a 3-hectare south-facing slope hidden away in the Great Park, possessing all the qualities necessary for a top-notch vineyard: gentle breezes and a moderate climate. Our first release was in 2016 – the 2013 vintage, and each subsequent vintage has improved as the vines mature. Come and hear the story of how it came to be.”

The Laithwaites’ tent will showcase recent community projects, including the upcycling of wooden wine boxes by Reading Men’s Shed and Brookfields SEN School.
