Resilient Beauty in a Changing Climate

In this illustrated talk, André Tranquilini shares insights from his work at Waltham Place, a pioneering biodynamic estate known for its bold naturalistic plantings. André will highlight climate-adaptive species, sometimes humble, sometimes surprising and demonstrate how unconventional plant combinations can create thriving, ecologically rich gardens. Expect practical advice, new ideas, and a fresh appreciation of plants we often label as “weeds.”

André Tranquilini is a horticulturist and garden professional known for his work with naturalistic and biodynamic gardening. As Estate Manager at Waltham Place in Berkshire, he leads the development and stewardship of its renowned gardens, where ecology, wildness, and aesthetic planting come together. André’s approach emphasises climate-resilient design, the value of spontaneous vegetation, and a deep respect for the living landscape. He speaks widely on naturalistic planting, biodynamics, and the beauty of plants often overlooked.

The talk is free to members, and £10 for non-members.

The York Club bar will be open for light refreshments.
